Cast Iron Waffle Irons.

I thought this would be a cool way to see how many cast iron waffle iron owners there are on the board now.

I just purchased my first one & I am planning on purchasing a 2nd one. I would like to get a high base one to go with my low base one.

I'm working on it. Jeez, I hate e-bay. I alway get out bid at the last minute by somebody who knows how to pay attention.
Since I became a believer at the Dam and Mendo, (thanks Joanie, Doug, Kev, Dean...), I wish I had been paying attention at the huge swap meet I was at Memorial day... :DOH2:

I just got outbid on a Griswold heart iron but I made him pay more than he wanted I'm sure  . Got my foot in the door on a Wagner and if that one slips by I may just by the new $20 one Steve made a link to in another thread. I just want waffles not a piece of history. :) Danny

I don't own any.....must resist....must resist! I probably won't get one because I don't wake up early for breakfast. It's usually lunch time by the time I wake up.

I have my great-grandmother's waffle iron, but I've never actually made waffles with it.

I need to get it down and take some pics, it's not by a company I've ever heard of. My grandfather is 93 and it's the iron his mother used when he was a kid. I also have several of her skillets and a kettle...those get alot of use!

We have had a Griswold for many years, long before I was even aware of teardrops. Have used it on an electric stove at home and a campstove with excellent results. It has the low base.

Don't worry Paul...there'll be another...I lost out on the first one with 2 secs remaining...I've got a digital timer, set it to match the clock on the bid, in the last 30 min....and put in what my ultimate bid is in about the last 30 sec...get it all set on the confirm button and wait till it's down to like 4 secs...then send it...It's hard to beat a sniping service if that's what you were up against...the refresh button has too much lag time at least it does with my internet provider. I lost out on an older one, but got what I wanted for 20$ less the next week....I don't know if this is the prescribed method, but it worked for me...Doug

I got this one a few weeks back.
Think the wooden handle type would be even better but it sure does make good waffles.

All this talk of waffle irons I had forgot I had a Vitantonio Pizzelle Iron for 30 years or more, parents gave one to each of us. It makes delicious thin waffle cookies. If I could win a waffle iron on Ebay I could use it's stand to cook on.:D Danny
