Need to allow more than one answer in the poll, I use both the first and second choice but could only pick one answer.

I voted to get away from it all. When I go camping it is usually way out in the boonies and no electric hook up. I wouldn't mind having cell phone conections, but my provider has crappy coverage when I get too far from the interstate.

"I got this trailer to get away from all that S....."

Although when I'm on my ten days of teardrop time in the Adirondacks I have been known to stop in at the Long Lake Library around mid-trip and use their computer to check my e-mail...

I agree with camping to get away from it all...

However, I do pack my laptop, just incase I need a vital piece of information, like the weather forcast...

I also pack my WWAN.

my wife and i both have the wwan cardsfor our laptops that we bring with us and i can also plug my treo into any computer with a usb port and use that to go online with
in worst case i can just go online with the treo itself but its a pain

we use it all the time
there is a laptop on a mount in the front of the car with gps going and up to date weather and looking for stuff to do as we generally wing it on most vacations and dont really have a set plan

Right now our laptop mount is my wife's lap. :) Can you tell us where you got your mount, what it costs, how much it is to install, etc.?

I have been walking slowly by city police cars to look at how they have a computer mounted to get an idea. I am worried that an officer is going to get the wrong idea about what I am doing.

i got mine from ram-mount.com they run around 200-300 depending on your car and options
it is super easy to install from these guys which is why there a little more then others that have you just bolt a plate to your floor
this company actually makes a bracket that uses your 2 existing front seat bolts so it doesnt harm your car at all and takes about 5 minutes to install
we also have a enormous power invertor and enough plugs up front to run our house but when were on a 30 hour drive none stop its surprising how much crap you need to charge

p.s. heres a link to a pdf of the particular one that i have which is a pretty good picture of it
