The only thing that needs to be improved, and this is not Dean or Joanie's doing is, pit toilets. Other than that, it was perfect!

Geez Ron....only 1 positive? I think it's a little early to be asking for that kind of feedback, especially on an event that took that level of planning on, lots of people aren't even home yet. Give Dean and Joanie a break! If you couldn't/or didn't have a good time at the IRG...don't go to Minden. Doug

Yeap... The pit toilets for sure.
Got some great advice for next time...
If the county doesn't have them pumped and serviced before the start of our event, we are certainly gonna pay to have it done ourselves.
Other changes...
We ended up adding one day to the event out of neccesity because of so many early arrivals, making it a 6 day event this year.
Next time, we're gonna go a full week, making it a true summer camp.
Can't tell yaa just yet what Joanie is planning to add for next time, but it's gonna be great!!!
Oh Yaa...
The parking worked out fine, but we are going to be making changes to the registration so we know beforehand just how many vehicles will be coming.
One last thing... I'll listen to Joanie next time about how much meat to order, did about 150 lbs. too much this time. :R
Yaa know Ron... We aren't trying to entice those who aren't interested in coming, so might I suggest you only poll those that made the trip and the ones that wanted to but couldn't make it... They were just as big as part as making this event a success as those who were able to show up.
After this year's event, the county suggested that Joanie and I do a class on how to run an event at Pamplin Grove... That tells me we did pretty good.

Great time, great people, and great food! OK, so the pit toilets were just like pit toilets.....smelly. Hold your breath and move on. I found that a bottle of "fabreez" works quite well. I will bring some with me in 2010. What an incredible job that Dean and Joanie did!! I hope that they are getting some well deserved rest! :applause:

No complaints here, and if I could think of one, I would be the first in line to volunteer a helping hand. With regards to the pit toilets, I have experienced worse conditions. While we dare to even bring this subject up, I will mention "someone" put a bunch of hand sanitizers, and various other nice comfort toiletries on a small table in there. Including a little LED night light. So needless to say "everything" was thought of.

Hats off to the park rangers there also. I noticed they visited serveral times a day to clean the toilet areas, and take the trash out. Not part of the job that is enjoyable, but did notice their presence.

Again, thanks Joanie and Dean for making it so much fun.

P.S. Ron... I hope we see your smiley face there next time, you have two years to plan for it.

I'm going to show my ignorance here, as I don't follow every note on the forum.

What does IRG stand for, and where was it held?

and no, I did not vote.
