Ride inside?

Cats can drive, at least Toonces could when Dana Carvey was on Saturday Night Live, but I wouldn't feel safe in a trailer towed by a car driven by a cat.

Lot of exhaust from the tow vehicle can find its way into the tear... least thats what I remember most from my "ride".

Posted: Fri Dec 18, 2009 8:20 amI think I'll pass.. I have a 2,000# axle, and the t/d weighs 1,100#.. and some of the smaller things do get bounced around,, but most stay in place... so, I'll save my teeth.....

Several states allow riding in truck campers and fifth wheel trailers but not other travel trailers.
In Iowa, riding is legal but not recommended in fifth-wheel trailers and travel trailers.
In South Dakota riding is allowed in fifth-wheel trailers only with two-way communication.
In Oregon passengers are allowed in fifth-wheel trailers if the trailer is equipped with the following: All windows are made of safety glazing materials; an auditory or visual signaling device that passengers can use to gain the attention of the motor-vehicle driver towing the vehicle; and at least one unobstructed exit capable of being opened from both the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
In Wisconsin riding is allowed in fifth-wheel trailers, but no one under age 12 unless accompanied by a person 16 or older; trailer must be equipped with a two-way voice communication between driver and occupant(s).
Texas highway laws prohibit passengers from riding in any towed travel trailer.
If you are just checking out the ride, then it should not be a problem. But I would not recommend it on a regular basis. Just don't get caught

Posted: Sat Dec 19, 2009 10:55 pmI say ditto with Arne. Judging from the looks of the eggs that we had in the cooler for the trip to the camp ground. A 2000 lb axle for a 600 lb trailer would leave a person pretty beatup.

I would always take the long way out.
They would get all bounced around from the dirt road ride.
I'd open the door when we got to the gate and they would be all laughing, acting dizzy and would talk about it all the way home.
