Actually I just ordered mine today, I've found a National Park Campground right on the Delaware River, and I'll pay for the pass in two weekends of camping there.

They charge $37.00 a night for a waterfront site.

I said yes but I have a 'Golden Age Passport' which most likely is the same. I've had it for several years now and it let's me drive thru N.P.'s for free and camp at half price. If I'm not mistaken, it only cost me $5.

Gage:

My dad still renews his every year, even though it's been a few since he used it. The 5.00 fee is awesome! I still have a couple years before I get the good price.

Mine is Lifetime. No need to renew every year. The Passport is honored at:

Bureau of Land Mgmt.
Bureau of Reclamation
Corps of Engineers
Fish and Wildlife Serv.
Forest Serv.
National Park Serv.
Tenn. Valley Authority

I had to wait until I was 62 to get it, but it sure does save on Camp Fees

Even at the $80.00 per year fee for those of us that are younger, it's a bargain. Especially when you consider how great our National Park system really is.

The card Gage is talking about is now $10 for lifetime. There was talk at the Park Service about cutting the camping discount from 50% to 10%, but I think that failed.

I have the $10.00 lifetime one. It has been great for camping and day-use passes on federal lands.

I had one several years ago, but will get one in the future.
I prefer to support the parks if I can afford to.

Just got mine in the mail today.. the $80 not at the point where I can get the lifetime one yet. Big trip in the late summer/fall. We're planning on visiting a lot of parks so it will pay for itself very fast I'd expect.
