My longest single stay in my teardrop so far has been 3 months. The total this summer will be about 2 months.

Q,

Are you by yourself, or do you have a spouse or friend with you?

We did 28 days last year. Mostly moving daily, and never more than 3 days in one place.... me, sig. other, and dog.... worked well, biggest problem was sand in bed.... no matter how careful we were, it snuck in.

We only cooked when in remote areas, choosing to eat locally when possible. Cooking/cleanup takes valuable time unless you are camping (we were 'traveling').....

Actually, I think our way of doing it makes the tear more enjoyable, as we were away from it during the day, coming home later in the day or early evening just to clean up and go to bed, so we never got bored with it.

So far this year we have taken 3 trips, longest one week, shortest 3 days. Trips in driving distance, 5k, 900, 500, 250, 200 miles, and maybe missed one or two...

Next month, two trips planned, for the rest of the year, maybe 6-8..

I'd never do this in a tent....

Two nights, with spouse in 4' x 8' tear is about it for me.

Now if it were just myself, if the weather were warm, I could camp much, much longer. If we had made the inside more roomy, we would be taking it to TN and camping for weeks at a time as originally planned.

But.. since we didn't....we'll use the teardrop for weekend campouts and we'll use the Shasta for more lengthy campouts.

I did four weeks straight on the minden trip this year. Driving some 5800 miles. I've also spent about an other 40 days on weekend trips this summer. In my mind there is no better way to camp, and no better people to camp with than teardropers![/img]
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

We did five weeks and 9240 miles this fall. The longest stretch was five consecutive nights in the tear. We also stayed with friends and a few nights in motels. The next major trip may be the AlCan highway but that is a year or two in the future.
