How long did it take you the first time?

Postby asianflava » Sun Jul 03, 2005 5:41 am

In three months, I will be coming up on a year of construction I am no where near finished. I also haven't been working on it as hard as I would have liked to. Now the heat is really slowing me down my thermometer said 104F today.

I was just wondering, how long it took you to complete your build the first time around.

The name of this poll really threw me!!!  :rofl2: :laughter:

I have not completed mine yet, but now that I can work on it almost everyday, I should complete it within the month. Total will be about 4 months of on again off again and 1 month of consentrated work.

I built mine in four months, but I'm retired and have plenty of time. So, now that it's built, what should I do?????

Got me thinking. Below is my first post telling about status. We left on our trip on Oct. 3, 2004, with the uniflex still hardening... so roughly a 1 month build..... no galley.... Now I wish I had made it 120 inches (10 ft) long. Would have been a bit better..

The trailer is decked... pic under my personal album. Now to take it off and seal bottom.... Monday the walls get started.

Regarding cutting the floor. I needed to get the deck out of 2, 4x8 sheets of 3/4... saw no need to keep seam in the middle, so cut for max coverage.

Final deck is 63" x104" (queen size, plus dog bed)..

Outside skin will overlap deck so edge won't show."""

Yeah, me too! I'm glad I don't have to answer "10-15 seconds".....

Been looking, drawing, dreaming, etc for about 6 or 7 months - have had a frame and subfloor for about 2 months. Hopefully will be able to really start building in the next week or two. In the meantime been collecting small items to fit the theme...

If you're a builder, build another one. If you're a camper, go camping! Simple init?
