Nothing against me American brethren but I can't stand perculated coffee. .. I mostly drink instant coffee and just boil the jug when I need one or preferably use a plunger...

When boondocking I use a French press, when I have electricity I have a small Keurig ( can you say glamping?). I've made some decent percolator coffee. The trick is to watch the pot and take it off the heat after about 1 cycle through the grounds ( I watch the color) . If you let it go too long it's gets bitter and nasty.

One MUG at a time with an Aerobie AeroPress. It takes little more time than it takes to heat the water, quick rinse cleanup, no mud on the bottom. Oh, and it makes really good coffee. The best I can describe it is it's an upside-down French Press. 8)

The red neck hot water heater is alive and well.

Picked this one up for $3.00 at a yard sale.

I find that the flexibility of having hot water at the ready for bathing , hand washing, and doing up dishes is a luxury. When you combine it with having hot water at the ready for hot chocolate , hot tea , or yes the ever dreaded coffee "tea bag" make it a no brainer for me. I like the steeped coffee for the simple reason guests can leave it in as long as needed to get the strength of coffee that they desire.
