We need a name for us Pacific Northwestern Teardroppers

Postby dahoon » Sat Jul 30, 2005 12:31 am

We are collecting quite an interest in getting a group together in the Pacific Northwest.

There is also an interest in coming up with a name for our little band of merry teardroppers.

So we have come up with 5 names so far, and they are:

1--WAindrops
2--Teardrips
3--Raindrops
4--Mt Raintear Droppers
5--Cascade Tears

Did you know that there is already a group of Northwest Teardroppers? They go by the name of "T.O.W. - Teardroppers of Oregon & Washington" (they welcome folks from Idaho, Montana, and far-northern California, too!). Hosting several events a year, TOW is quite an active group. Coming up end of next month is their campout and display at the annual LeMay Open House in Tacoma, WA. Check out their listings on the teardrops.net DESTINATIONS! Page - http://www.teardrops.net/destinations01.html - and contact anyone in those listings for more info on TOW.

Just thought you'd like to know. There's nothing saying there can't be MORE than one northwest teardrop group, too, ya know!

Good Luck, and ...

CHEERS!

Hmmm, I thought that we were just coming up with a name for a co-op to help build and get supplies, not a camping group, or is that the same thing?

You have a point. But one could lead into the other.

We will need more than 5 or 6 to get any kind of volume discounts. But, I do know some vendors we can get things from at reduced prices.

Camping is the end goal of all on this forum, eh? The main focus of this idea was to get people together to share knowledge, expertise and interest in teardrop construction. "Co-op" is a good term....simply a group working together, not necessarily even on their own teardrop, but learning from each other.

What is my ultimate? A group that can apprentice ourselves and others interested in building quality teardrops of any design. For a novice, the process is daunting, but, as experience is gained and shared, it becomes easier.

Basically, we take the idea of this board, a place to share information and ideas, and give it a "face", at least here in the Puget Sound area.

Well I have been busy rippin' and a tearin'. Another couple of hours on the donor trailer and the frame will be exposed and ready to go under the knife (hot knife that is).

I went and cleaned out the garage to make room and found a couple of trailer loads of garage sale stuff so that's delayed my progress. But what I have to do next is inside stuff.

Don't know what others excuses are, and that's the best I could come up with.

I was starting to wonder what happened to everyone myself. I have been busy with family visiting and trying to finish up a few home remodeling tasks. Once I get those taken care of I need to straighten up the garage, so I can get back to finishing up the chassis.

Where'd they go?

Postby CheshyreKatt » Tue Sep 27, 2005 4:32 pm

Well, as for myself, buying a town house and moving. I'll be back in a place to think clearly about TD building by mid October (once I get through my daughter's 16th birthday, ugh!).
