Funny that this thread came back to the top. I just got done eating Frito Pie. What is Frito pie you ask? I had never heard of it till I came to Texas. People here love it, it is a Texan delicacy. I was a little dissapointed when I heard what it was, not a pie at all.

Ready for the recipe:
Get a bowl and put fritos in it
Put Chili on top of that
Put cheese or onions on top of the Chili.

pie or cobbler

Postby oklahomajewel » Tue Oct 18, 2005 7:39 pm

Actually I prefer a cobbler than a pie.... Blackberry., Apricot... yummmmmm

And out at camp, cooked in a dutch oven sounds even sweeter!

I voted fruit! Apple, Peach, blackberry you name it. there is nothing better than a hot pie or cobbler right out of the dutch oven when camping.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

Mine is a toss up between Pecan pie and Peach cobbler (with a lot of crust).

We looked at a ranch to hold our wedding after party. We were married out of town so we threw a party so everyone can get together. Anyway, the owner said Peach cobbler made on dutch ovens was included in the BBQ package. We decided on a different ranch so I never got to try his dutch oven cobbler.

Two of my favorites! Every year we visit my family in Phoenix and my grandmother makes me a home made pecan pie. I gotta go make reservations now.
