What travel clubs & organization do you use when camping

Postby Ron Dickey » Fri Jul 01, 2011 8:18 pm

What clubs do you belong to that help your travel or help you while you are T&TTT traveling??

I have AAA and I am considering renewing Good Sam Club.

I have AAA plus, I have yet to use it since I joined the Plus part. But I love the maps and the destination mapping. AAAplus should cover my trailer as well so it does not just sit as my car gets towed.

Good Sam Club seems to be more for the big units, those who live all the time on the road. I have it because I get a discount at Camp World when shopping for camping stuff.

They offer several other services for extra bucks. Like what looks like it might be a very good emergency Assistance program offer to pay for the return of your rv to it's home and getting you medical aid in an emergency, they keep offering it to me but so far I have taken the chance and said no. Once in New Mexico I was stuck had not joined any of the other offering on the back of the card. I called and was told they could call a tow truck for me but that was all. My membership is about up and until I go to a Camp World both over 200 miles from my home will I need it.

I tried the trip help on the net for Good Sam and it seemed limited but if you put in a town it would give you state forest campgrounds with some info. but you need to have the names of towns in the area general areas do not work.

The groups part or forum offers RV trailer but I saw non for Tiny Travel trailers nor Teardropers.

do not see a need as my car insurance and trailer insurance covers everything. i did belong to good sam when we used our 34 ft motorhome because we stayed at RV parks, now with a teardrop and a tiny trailer the last place i want to stay is at a RV park

AAA and Good Sam Club. AAA told me that my coverage, whether the "normal" nor the "plus" would not cover anything on the travel trailer.

Ford gave me a similar road trouble service and according to their paperwork, if I'm pulling a trailer when I have a problem, they will take care of the trailer, too.

Actually, I hope to not use any of them for a breakdown.

I love AAA for their maps, books, pet friendly books, etc.

I have AAA plus RV which DOES cover my trailer, so if my car requires towing, the trailer gets towed also. Another Teardropper recommended this coverage.
