Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

As light as our little teardrops are, do you run an auto tire or trailer tire? Why have you chosen what you did?

Car tires, lower pressure capbility, more flex for a better ride and less sway. Also available in all size ranges. I sound like a commercial for Goodyear. :lol:

...since these trailers are so light and because we carry around stuff in them that doesn't like to be bounced so much, I prefer an auto tire...they are softer, don't take as much air and give a smoother ride...afterall, you are not carrying a 5000# tractor onna 1000# trailer...

Passenger car tires are what the manufacturer (Hunter) put on it.

Trailer tires are built for load carrying capacity, Automotive tires are built for ride quality (and handling). Since we wouldn't overload our campers, which is likely with a utility trailer, an automotive tire is just fine.

i have 15 inch auto tires on my trailer and i much prefer that to the very small trailer tires out there. the demand for auto tires on my part narrowed down my choices when i started shopping around (although now there are more choices).

my trailer is very stable whiel towing thanks to those auto tires.

sorry for laughing...very little about these trailers is objective...it is almost all subjective to a persons tastes/likes/dislike...afterall we are all rather obsessed with them which throws objectivity out the window...be paitient grasshoppah and allow your poll to run a little while, I am sure you will get more answers.........

There ya go Chris, up to 16 now :lol:

As I offroad I use offroad tyres. I am about to start an ontroader for a mate and that will have auto tyres for comfort towing.

Chris, Basically for the look and the side benefit of lower rotation speed and better ride.
Another reason is that I wanted "Moons" on the rims, so I didn't have much choice. :thinking:

I run auto tires on all of my trailers (4) except my 5th wheel. It gets trailer tires because of the gross weight (10,500 pounds). I have run car tires on flatbed trailers with a GVW of 7000 pounds for over 20 years without any trouble.
