aluminum sides but not the roof

All,

I have found a very reasonable source for 4 x 8 aluminum for the sides of my generic benroy build. However, getting the 5 wide aluminum for a roof is proving to be way more trouble than it's worth.

Is there some other material that is easily sourced in five wide that I can use for the roof and keep only the sides aluminum?

Thanks in advance

I've had the same issue and have decided to use 4 foot sheets cut down to 5 across the width.
I didn't realy want joins but it was good enough for old vans and they didn't have polyurethane sealants so I'm pretty confident it will seal fune

Yeah, I really do not want seams.

I found a truck parts place locally that will sell me some kind of frp off the roll in a 16 foot length.
They called it high gloss side liner. I believe it must be some other brand of material similar to filon.

I'm probably going to go this route

You could go with Marine vinyl. A couple of builds have gone that route ( Woodbutcher's Slow Mobile is one).

Don't know where you're at, but really, 5' aluminum should not be that hard to find. Try the local industrial steel & metal supplier. It would be a shame to change your plans.
