Now to find the 5' wide mill finish or anodized for the top & hatch. They carry nothing in 5' and I don't want to deal with seams.

If I can get 5' wind Salmon, you can get it in Boise.

I call up CDA metals in Missoula (HQ in CDA Idaho). The make a run down here once a week to the local steel store and deliver it to me for $10. Somebody carries it in Boise.

Thanks Tony, I'll look them up and give them a call. I'm getting really frustrated here... I've been to 3 RV repair places that all say "yea, we can order that from Interstate RV Metals in Portland" then tell me it will cost double for shipping.

If worse comes to worst, I'll hit you up for the name of your local steel store and have them order for me, then take a day off work and drive up to Salmon to pick it up. I'll still save a ton on shipping.

Hit up the places in Boise that sell sheet steel. I see O'Neal Flat Rolled Metals has the following in Caldwell:

Mill finish Aluminum 3003 H14 .032-.063
Mill finish Aluminum 5052 H32 .032-.250
Painted Aluminum 3105 .029-.050
Aluminum Tread 3003 .045-.125
Anodized Aluminum

yep... I called him a couple weeks ago. He only does wholesale, and wouldn't tell me who their customers are locally.
I also have been trying to get Pacific Steel... this is the place I purchased the steel for my frame, and my axle... they've been absolutely NO help.

Good gawd... You might give CDA Metals a call in their La Grande office. http://www.cdametals.com/contact.php Ask them how close to Boise they do weekley deliveries too. Two-bits says they make run to Baker or maybe something closer.

I meet them on the highway and transfer it to my trailer. The sheets are strapped to a pallet. One side is protected by a vinyl sheet. .040 mill finish. I don't think they can get anodized in 5' wide sheets.

p.s. If you are going to get a title for your project in Idaho, read my post: http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=57749&start=0 I found it easy, because I had all my expenditures documented on a spread sheet and seperated into those that I paid sales tax on and those that I didn't.

I'll do that... thanks man. That'd be GREAT if they'll do that for me.

Hey Tony, you're going to get a kick out of this... yesterday, I found the name of the CEO at Pacific Steel and shot him an email...
This morning, I just received a phone call from my local shop, telling me they will have 2 sheets of .040 60 x 120 5052 H32 in hand on Thursday for me.
WHOHOOO!!!!

Sometimes I scratch my head over what I can get here in this little burg vs. the big city. I read about guys in Atlanta or Dallas that can't find 1/8" baltic birch and my lumber yard here will get me a few sheets on the next truck from Billings.

But good deal.

TXDave, I'd like to thank you for that Harbor Sales link. May not be cheapest bunch, but no Shipping charge for 5'x10' ACM panels or 5'x12'x.04 sheet.

"They already make daily deliveries to my area so no shipping charge."

Curious what you guys end up paying for .040" X 5' X 10' mill-finish (this is 5052 H3). The best I've found available to me, with shipping out of Phoenix, is $101 a sheet with a $50 shipping charge. This looks like the best deal for me, as I was quoted at $140 a sheet & also at $288 a sheet at two other places. They seem to think that 5' sheets are made out of gold and very rare.

Still seems pretty steep to me, since the colored stuff for the walls (.040" X 4' X 10') is coming in at about $70 a sheet with shipping & delivery to where I work. This is from a sign supply company in Phoenix. Go figure.

$91.56. With a teardrop load, they'll do the shipping for $15, but they're making a run over here every week with a bunch of other metals. I'm on the road right now, so I don't have access to what alloy I'm buying.
