Im ready to install my filon. Id rather not glue it because ive heard it can oil can. I was thinking about just gluing the very edge to hold i in place while i rout it and install the trim that will secure it. Any issues w doing it this way? The bottom will be held on by my 3"x1/8" aluminum strip and the door and very large window pretty much secure it in the center. So just the top edge would be slightly glued the held in with the edge moulding.

Have you tried it yet and how did it turn out? Just curious because I tried it and it didn't work.

Right on Atomic! This is important info, really a baseline info for all.
Would love to have this info posted for all. Can Filon be used in what manner?

I glued all of the edges and it looked real nice until the thermal expansion set in outside. And then everything went crazy. I redid it by spraying the contact adhesive, or red glue, on both surfaces and it worked perfectly. It's never coming off lol.

I've floated two sets of roof skins. The teardrop had a wrinkle in the front from the beginning because I bunched it up when I put it on. The top was fine and didn't seem to oil can. I didn't bother me enough to fix it. I haven't had any problems with the second one and it looks great 5 years later (but it is a garage queen). I was much more careful when I put the top on and didn't bunch it up. I also didn't glue the edges and I wouldn't either after Atomic's issues.
