I saw some awesome boomerang Formica used in the galley and it got me thinking that Formica would be a really easy material to skin the interior of the cabin. It also comes in a great variety of styles and designs. Any color me to skinning the interior in Formica? Cost seems a bit high depending....

Formica has little structural strength- that is why it's glued to plywood. So, if you have to skin the inside with paneling/Luan for a base to glue the Formica to, I wouldn't want to spend the money to cover it up with Formica.

Whatever pleases you. Could be attractive and more of a one of a kind look. Usually contact cement is used, that might tricky inside a TD. Use 3M NF30 as it is less odorous, non flammable and kills fewer brain cells.

That's what I used, it turned out awesome and is waterproof and durable. I used all over and will be making a table top too. See my build journal

Actually it looks like I need to go through and fix some links and post some new photos. I'll try to get more of the interior too.

I have used plastic laminate on foam for acoustical panels and it works fine except for dimensional stability. I believe across a sheet - there is a grain to it if you look at the rear face - it can vary 1/4" in 48", from 10% to 90% rh, or in that ballpark. What the panel fabricators found was that the aluminum edges had to be joined with rivets and slotted holes to allow for it to change size or else it would bubble as the frame restrained it.

We put it on the counter tops for our build and I've used it a lot around my house.
I love the material -exceptionally durable, warm to the touch, easy to work with.
