Planning on towing in some bigger mountains next year.

The mountains around here–-the middle of Idaho––are all a bit more than 4,000 pounds.

Are you referring to my photo above?

If so, you might take a look at the vehicle. It's a Toyota Tacoma, not a Tesla. The battery is a lead-acid Group 24. It gets me started just fine. And you might read the line below the photo, which says, "Don't believe everything you see on the Internet."

 Yes - I am .... and yes, I got your message  (I'm the one who 'talked' battery's' here before with you - taking pic's at W-M) But Yes = I do have a 'Pacemaker' and after all of their 'warnings' 8 years ago when they put it in = I still today also wander about the side-effect 'warning's' of being around an electric car also??  (even in the owner's Manuel of that new '22 Chev Colorado I just bought, there was a note of "warning" that if this vehicle has the 'cell-phone' recharging pad option on the console, "to check with your doctor if you have a pacemaker" = this did make me go out to the vehicle and have a look-see? = it didn't have... Take Care ......so far, there are 2 "great" things about having a pacemaker = still alive 8 years later and I never did go back work because of it (got to retire at 62) 31 yrs Wash.State DOC = haven't missed it yet!!!!
PS met up with the TearJerker Crawl group in '19 at a Sula,Mt campground north of you and have been back twice more since..... love that southbound drive to your town and area... don't know that I could ever 'handle it' living there in the winter??? but the summers & those mountains there are just "gorgeous"!!!!! hope to get back there again one of these days............. it maybe "the edge of nowhere" - but I'd have to said = the "GORGEOUS" NOWHERE !!!!!.......  :worship:

Nice, but sorta impractical for me, as I take along enough supplies for two weeks, even on a two-day excursion. That's why my 4x8 trailer is only at 2225 lbs, because the rest of my large collection of supplies goes into my tow vehicle (probably 300 lbs, just for camping/survival). My '04 Chevy 2500HD's bed is permanently-packed with camping, vehicle maintenance, and survival gear, and is dedicated to using it only (so far) when I camp.

I'm prepping my '01 BMW X5 for similar usage (still in the project stage; I've got 90% done), but my wife won't let me even drive her '14 Lexus ES350, much less tow with it, so no Lexus tow vehicle for me.

I am allowed access to her '98 GMC 1500, if I need to use it, though. It is halfway-prepped...heavy-duty engine, transmission, and suspension mods already done), so it's a third possibility to tow with.
2013 HHRv "squareback/squaredrop", rugged, 4x8 TTT, 2225 lbs
  • *3500 lb Dexter EZ-Lube braked axle, 3000 lb.springs, active-progressive bumpstop suspension
  • *27 x 8.5-14LT AT tires (x 3) *Weight Distribution system for single-beam tongue
  • *100% LED's & GFCI outlets, 3x fans, AM/FM/CD/Aux. *A/C & heat, Optima AGM, inverter & charger(s)
  • *extended-run, on-board, 2500w generator *Coleman dual-fuel stove & lantern, Ikea grill, vintage skillet
  • *zinc/stainless front & side racks *98"L x 6" diameter rod & reel carrier tube on roof

Just got the Maverick for towing this spring as the Bronco Sport was pretty much at it's 2K limit.

My new ride- 2003 Durango SLT, 2wd, 5.9L magnum engine, the last conventional OHV push rod engine they made.
53,000 miles locally owned by a senior lady. It’s been in FL since new= no rust at all. And- no hitch, so I know it was not ragged out towing trailers.
My wife told me if I want to buy a camper , to look in the help wanted ads for a job first, haha.
I found this at a dealer 5 miles away- $5500.
