Thomas,

Thanks for the encouragement, this week has been without progress.
I hope to have the insulation done and start skinning by next Sunday. :worship:
I dont know about the weight, I wont admit to overbuilding the Vibe's pulling capability......"yet", but Im sure its going to be close to the 1500lbs, :frightened:

stay tuned!
Where are we going and why am I in this hand basket?

Mine is big, 5' x 10' x 56" tall, and it weighs 1340 lbs with all the stuff that stays in it. Which is everything but our clothes and food for a camping trip.
God Bless

Aunti,
I have been thinking too much, I need to get building again before I convince myself to build a second floor. :hammer:

Cliff,
1340lbs? I'm going to have to take another look at your build, maybe their is hope for me yet.

Thomas,
I'm with you, what will be will be, I just hope I wont have to buy a new TV, new or used now is not the time!

Hey All,

Started the hatch, 4 ribs cut, 4 to go. Im going with 8 total, 1/2 ply, 3" tall on a 55 3/4" radious.

Started by mounting a pencil on a stick and drawing out the ribb, I then started to cut them out with a hand held jig saw. Quickly realized that was going to take a long time with less than steller results.

I opted to mount my router to a stick and drill a couple holes at the oposit end at the desired length to creat the inner and outer radious.
Image
I was able to get 5 ribs out of a 4x8 sheet.
Image
The weights will keep them flat until assembly.
Image
I need to add a little frame work to the wall to meet up with the inner radious "less the space for the gasket".

God work! I got 5 out of a 4x8 too, I used a jig saw and did ok, but the belt sander was a big help  I am glad you are doing a rounded back too I was wondering about how that was going to be designed.

Ok,

The road to He!! is pathed with good intentions, went to the blue box store and picked up more Liquid Nails, sand paper, screws, saw blades. $>
On the way home decided to stop by JoAnn Fab and check the price on Foam for the bed, "50% off" I explained to the wife it was OK it was "on sale"
Stoped over at the "Inlaws" had a few "wobble pops" Next thing I knew it was 7pm. Got home and had enough time to finnish putting the "Luan" on both sides of each ribb and cut to length the upper and lower hatch frame. A couple of dado cuts and I should be ready for assy. :hammer:
