Camping at Hillsborough River State Park in Tampa, July 2-4

Postby CAJUN LADY » Wed Jan 07, 2009 12:23 pm

Here's an invite to anyone wanting to join me camping on July 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I will be in site 107 (Loop 1), arriving Thursday about 5:00 pm. This is a nice, shady campground with a huge swimming pool at the front of the park. I think they have a place to eat there too (snacks/burgers). If you've never been there before and decide to join me, I have a list of sites that are nice and big...I'll be happy to list them for you.

Looks like a wonderful park. We are kayakers so that makes it even better. We will start looking into joining you. I am sure it fills up that weekend. I will let you know soon..... John :)
If you could send camp layout that would be great.... Thanks

John and Steve, that would be great! I will scan the layout of the park and email it to you on Monday...just checked my vehicle and I left my camping book home.

I would have answered sooner but for some reason, this didn't show up in my inbox. Sometimes I get replies, sometimes I don't.

I'm in 113 Thurs to Sun. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone and camping in Fl again.
I'm already committed to 3 events and I don't get my baby until next weekend 2/28.... at least the site is listed as "full shade".

I looked at all the map pics of the park. I see severel spots say no swimming. Does this mean there is no swimming in the river anywhere? We are kayakers and enjoy the river more than a pool. Hope some others will be kayaking too. John

I plan to have her well broken in before July 4th.... This will be a long drive for me tho.... I have already committed to 4 events between now and Sept. From here to Fl. So much for needing a hobby. I am still trying to figure out what to call her. I'd love some help with that.
Think fish and undersea stuff.... Any thoughts? I will probably re post this request in the lady teardropper area (no offense gentlemen).... :R

Our cargo conversion is called Seaturtle Inn. I own a sign shop so it is easy for me to decorate it how we like. It will have palms and sea life all over it. I have 2 sea turtles on the front now. We are thinking ... starfish, seahorses, shells, and the like. Let me know if I can send you or take with me some graphic to the park for you. Just send me a pic and size... hope this helps.... John

John, I don't think they allow swimming in the river. Of course I don't think the gators would mind. ;)

I'll try and get over there this weekend and take some pictures of your campsites and post them.
