Finally first time out!

October 24, Perfect day in North Alabama. Decided to go for a single night trip, spur of the moment. Traveled 20 miles to Lake Guntersville. Beautiful place. Nice weather,

Packed most of the stuff I needed in about 30 minutes.
What I forgot to pack.

1. Radio for Saturday afternoon football.
2. Cell phone charger, phone died about 30 minutes after arriving.
3. More spices than salt or pepper for grilling.
4. Extra blanket. Not a big deal but would have been nicer.
5. Forgot the camera

What I gained in the experience.
1. You can survive without a radio. The peace and quiet was almost spiritual.

2. No troublesome phone calls from work. The leash was broken for a few hours.

3. Sometimes salt and pepper are all you need.

4. There is a God because no one could come up with the visual effects of a sunset over the Tennesse River Valley and a sunrise over the mountiains like this past weekend. Had to commit the images to memory.

All in all "priceless". Can not wait till the next trip.

Tom, as you take more and more trips in the tear - and you will! - you will realize how little you really need for comfort and enjoyment. I have personally taken a whole box of "stuff" out of the tear for at least the first dozen trips. Twenty-eight trips and still eyeing stuff that might stay home next time. :?

Have fun in your new teardrop, and visit Georgia when you can!
