Tired of the old BBQ

Postby desertmoose » Mon Apr 29, 2013 6:33 pm

I've been using an old BBQ as a "table" for my DO cooking. Never been happy with it, big, bulky, and the DO never sits level with the grate charcoal pan. Also, I can just barely squeeze my 8" in with my 10", and then neither one sits level.

Old way:

So, this weekend I was feeling a bit better, and took the time to knock out a new table.

It holds my 12" and my 10" at the same time.

Legs are removable, and also adjustable. Yes, those are golf balls for feet. I'll never wear them out.

I made a quick box to hold the table as well as the rest of the gear. Since I'll always want the table first out of the box, I added a couple of cleats to hold the table at the top of the box. Rest of the stuff goes underneath.

Here's the new table in it's resting place.

All packaged up, and ready for the maiden "burn" at the Dam Gathering.

Nice work on the DO table. A nice flat table with a good shield is hard to beat for DO cooking.

Congrats, and I love the box with the rope handles.

Are you going to paint/stain the box as well??
