Randy,
Just saw this thread today, my condolences to you and yours on your father's passing. I'm facing that same situation ultimately, my father has had COPD for years now, and it is taking its toll on him.
I just dug out my three lanterns, unfortunately my grandfathers 200a needs some TLC, but I managed to get my pair of 295s dusted off, fueled & lit. First time ever, actually, since I was given them a year ago.

Sorry Randy

But my Military lantern came in today DOA. It need a new generator.

This is the best I can do for now, one small candle. One or one million candles flames can not light up the darkness left when a loved one passes. I’ll do your father a better one when this old gal rises from the ashes.

That goes for Mark(72) as well.

Randy - I just saw this thread about the loss of your father and want to send my sincere condolences. I lost my dad to C.O.P.D. nearly 38 years ago. I still think of him often and it's the happy memories that come to mind after all these years. I do not have a milspec (yet) but my oldest lantern is a 242B that I will light up in honor of your father tonight. I hope that his final passing has lightened your load and that you and your family realize what a blessing it was to have him as long as you did. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Bill

Thanks Kookenotes. I am glad that he is no longer in pain and distress from the COPD. I can imagine you know what I mean. Now we are in a battle with his widow over the estate. The fun never ends.

As promised.

For Randy’s Father and for Mark72 Father as well.

This is my 1963 US MILITARY THERMOS LANTERN, Dont think I'll find a 1964 ( B-day year ) Mil-spec I dont belive that made any that year, going off what I read on the net. I want to take this one apart and reindex (spin around ) fuel valve, cage, and burner frame, so it is centered on the fount and the lighting holes line up better. ( almost hate to mess with it because it is working  )

Thanks for the advice Randy. I freed up the air tube and get my first Mil Specs pumping again for 5 pumps, whatever was in the air tube I blew back up there. Now I rigged up a spare fuel cap with an air valve so I can back flush the pump tube. All I need now is a new fount, paint, and more mantles and I can get all 3 Mil Specs going.
