OOOOPs.... my technical skills are getting ahead of me here. I have no idea how I did that. I hope it's now "public"
Thanks for the note.

Slept in today so no update....slacker that I am.
I'll put the roof rack on the RAV and collect 3.6mm ply from the merchant tomorrow. I'll be skinning the hatch and the cabin ceiling this weekend.

The weather in Scotland is awesome, you may be watching the Open at Muirfield (near Gullane) so you may have noticed the weather we're having if you've been watching and are interested in golf.
As golf goes, within an hour there are some pretty famous courses around us. Top right hand of the map is Carnoustie, down a bit are the 7 or 8 courses at St Andrews, including the Old Course.

Tail lights are an important part of the image of a tear drop and I've been messing with some ideas.

What do you think?

The Mach 1 style repeat the round style of your window quite nicely. I vote for those. Either positioning would work; but, personally, I think the simpler positioning, on the lower area, would look the best; although the higher, tubed positioning might be easier for other drivers to see.

Installing the ceiling using 3.6mm ply

Warning: all you fine cabinet makers please don't watch this video, from your point of view my tolerances may not quite up to yours.....

The rear hatch is proving to be a challenge, as I'm bending the ply against the grain. Even though it's just 3.6mm (1/8") it resists bending....
Leaving it out overnight in the dew, helped it a little.

Cutting the doors using a router is easy with a circular guide. Only one thing to remember make sure the screws fixing the router to the board are below the surface or they mark the wood. Again, for my watch making friends, this is sloppy, however I think I'll get away with it this time..... :)

Can you get 'bending' plywood there?

Its used in sheathing tight turns in home construction.
You'll have to ask for it and perhaps order it in.

Here are three in a row.
One showing how the rear hatch skin overlaps the walls to make it waterproof (ish)

The 5m LEDs I bought off "the bay" to use for lighting in the cabin, the galley and anywhere else I can use them.

Wood filler in the ceiling. I know it's dull but I need to make sure the inside surface is smooth. It happens the join is not "my" side of the bed. It was just luck but when I'm lying in bed looking up at the ceiling, I'll not be too critical.

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, I sometimes feel like a complete pillock talking to myself in my garage at 6am in the morning....

I MISSED OUT a video: How I skinned the hatch using both traditional and modern methods of clamping.

Although obvious, I did get the idea from woodworking for mere mortals, Steve Ramsey is a scream!

Love your humor: traditional clamps....did a little of that myself!

I've a basic galley design in my CAD drawing however I'm now working on 1:1 scale and making changes as I find them.
The thing I've found out this morning is that my shins will be up against the deck of the trailer and the work surface is 10" in from that edge. It means I'll bruise my shins or have to lean forward.
Two choices, either cut the deck back or have a "flip out"/"slide out" cutting surface. The latter options are preferable.

I have an out-take for your amusement. ;)

At last I'm getting to grips with youtube and managed to get a play list together.
I've added some of the early stages I did not video and rather than just have a photo slide show you can here my dulcet tones highlighting some of the mistakes I made... ;)
There are at least 4 new videos I've added

My photo on youtube looks rather formal. perhaps I need to get one in my shop with sawdust all over my hair. :?

Galley design by the seat of your pants part II
By taking the actual cool boxes, bbq and gas hob down, I used them as a template to make everything fit.
The original IKEA drawer that the coolers sit on has been cut down and reinforced underneath.

I'm measuring drawers from old wooden filing units and find a "perfect" fit for the remaining space.

Hope you find it useful.
