I have used epoxy on my first trailer. Then you need a UV protecting product on top. My current trailer I went cheap and tried something different. Here is the thread and my results were at the end. If you have any questions, let me know, I am happy to help. Plus I see we are from the same area.

I used the thin Raka epoxy on my tear before I put the aluminum on. It soaked in like a sponge. I put a second coat over it while it was still tacky. Good as gold for moisture. Moisture shouldn't get under the aluminum. But if it does, it's not a problem.

So wood butcher you didn't use any epoxy just that Coronado stuff? That looks great nice quality test would it work if I stain the wood before hand to?

According to boat building sites: use epoxy from a boat or marine store and do small areas at a time. Pay attention to instructions regarding temperature which governs the amount of catalyst. Apply top coat (or coats) of compatible varnish.

If possible keep the trailer covered when not in use to minimize UV impacts.

In 2016, I received a kidney transplant, finished my teardrop, and took it on the road! In 2017 I sold it and am back to car camping.
Thanks to all forum members who provided advice about my build and posted info to help me get started.
