I cannot let us stop at just 10 pages....going to keep it going for a bit.

From my back yard in VA.

Our buddy named "Buddy" at Smith Mountain Lake, VA. Comes back every year for his treats.
He has got to be about 35-40 lbs big.

A whole bunch of "buddies" at Smith Mtn Lake. This is a standard stop for our grandkids every year.
You do not want to fall in here!

Now these next three pictures have to be seen in sequence.
The first is the VA Fish and Game Department stocking Striped Bass Fingerlings into Smith Mountain Lake.
This day there were 350,000 fingerlings in the truck.

This is what they look like in the tank.

And here is a 1/4000 of a second shot of the fish in the stocking stream coming out of the truck.
You can see them fighting the stocking by trying to swing back up the water stream.

One more...

I didn't even know we had birds like this in Northern California. This is a White Faced Ibis photographed at the Colusa Wildlife Refuge. Colusa is where Kampmaster K hails from. Heard about the refuge on television. Went in the winter and the summer the same year. The shore birds arrive in the summertime.

Stacie, Nice photography!
I could say that I want to do that good when I grow up, but darn I am that already.

Thank you for the kind words. The photography hobby grew out of my need to have photos for my blog. Food and nature are my two favorite things to photograph.

Here's a short series you may enjoy. A couple of years ago I discovered a hummingbird nesting in the backyard. Each day I went out and photographed the babies once they'd hatched and the mom had left the nest. In total it was over three weeks of photos as the babies rapidly got longer beaks, grew feathers, and before I knew it they'd fledged. It was a lot of work but one of those life experiences I'll treasure always.

Here are just a few of the shots:

This is the mom. I named her babies Itty and Bitty:

If you want to see all of the pictures from end to start click here http://theflirtyguide.blogspot.com/search/label/Hummingbirds and then click "Older Posts" at the lower right of each page and eventually you'll get to where the momma had made her nest.
