Comediens

Postby PKCSPT » Mon Apr 07, 2014 6:43 am

I really enjoy watching comedians on youtube but seem to have run out. I like the cleaner comedians, or old school ones. George Burns, Bob Hope, Bill Cosby, Sinbad, Gabriel Iglasius, Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy, Ellen.

I am wondering if anybody knows of some more that are less famous but just as funny that I might enjoy.

Warning: Daniel Tosh and Louis Ck make me laugh but are very offensive and not for everyone.

I never miss a chance to hear/see old Jack Benny shows. His radio and TV episodes were always hilarious to me, back as far as I can remember in the early 50's. The ensemble cast and writing was always superb. When I had XM radio (not now, they ticked me off once too often), I always tuned in his show, no matter how many times I had heard the episode, on the Radio Classics channel. The recurrent characters (as played by Mel Blanc, for one), and plot devices like his "underground vault", never fail to amuse. I like many others that followed him, but he is my favorite comedian.

One of my favorite comedy shows of all time was The Carol Burnett Show. It still makes me laugh until I have tears running down my face.

Paula Poundstone really make me laugh. And for old, old school, Abbott and Costello.

I second the Carol Burnett Show, and Tim Conway.

Another fun one is Jeanne Robertson.

How about Dean Martin ( "Celebrity Roasts",) Phyllis Diller, Dick van Dyke, the Smothers Brothers, Laugh-ins Rowan & Martin, brash Don Rickles, Steve Martin, and I didn't see George Burns listed anywhere yet.

Saw a couple names I haven't seen before. Carol Burnett and friends is classic. I was just watching Pinette and then he dies. He was pretty good.
I thank everyone for their suggestions, I tend to bouts of depression and these folks are my preffered medications. But I need some new ones. Funny but Abbot and Costello Three Stooges never appealed to me.
I still miss Johnny Carson forgot about Kevin James
