Linen is made from the flax plant , same place we get flax seed (health food store) and Linseed oil (art store or Hdwe.) It’s a coarser , stronger fiber than cotton and very rot resistant (thus good for Foamies) Real linen feels stiffer than the cotton substitutes sometimes called linens (beware) ... and bedsheets and table cloths , linen closets, etc. etc. all misnamed . If it feels really soft , it’s probably not Linen, which feels like a well starched fabric .
I have painted on real linen canvas for many years now and still have paintings over 50 years old on linen that looks good as new, whereas the cotton canvas we used are all turned darker and become more fragile (rot) ... we don’t want that on a trailer eh, or a painting meant to last ... :o
Nice thing is, because it’s so Strong , you can go much Thinner material ... like on the FoamStream where I used an 18 oz. cotton canvas, I could have used a 6 oz. Linen canvas instead, giving the same results ... but it , even thinner, would have been more expensive, unless it’s on sale or you have a good coupon ... ;)

That being said , we sometimes stop by the local Thrift Store , where that always seem to have Linen (real linen ) curtains/drapery for sale cheap ... which might make a good covering , and for a pittance... Yet to be tried , here anyway... another resource to further investigate ...

Found 100 percent linen for 3.99/yard. 60" wide. It is however really loudly pattterned.

Primer & paint might take care of that. That is if your eyes can stand to look at it while you're working on it.

I'm a bit jealous you have access to a place like that. Big Duck is in my area but I doubt that will get me any discount.

Well then , it’s not like you’d want it some dull color eh ? ... That could be FUN , and Visible ... but paint and primer will cover all that just fine ... That was a Great find ... and enough for a couple trailers ... 8) :D  (Good shopping !!! :applause: )

There was a lot more still there. In other prints as well. Even more of that one.

Well I got my used HF 1740lb trailer back to the house.

I have replaced the bearings since it had 2000 miles on the factory not grease. Most off which were a cross country run from the west coast to here. It got built by a friend in a single night in a driveway so he could you're his motorcycle and a few other things on a move. They didn't actually look that bad. I cleaned them up and will be keeping the best two as spares.

I also pulled the little leaf out of the springs. This was based on me towing 600 lbs of snowthrowers around over the winter. Even with the tire pressure down to 40psi it could really get bouncing if the road wasn't smooth and it wanted to wag the dog. Since my TV is small I didn't want that. I have the springs hung on the garage wall if I change my mind.

Also I have installed stabilizer feet on all four corners.

And gotten both Coleman lanterns working so I can see in the garage when it isn't super bright out.

That means today I am off to buy wood and foam and things!

I suppose I should settle on a profile soon.

L’ , that’s the Fibonacci spiral , a mathematically generated shape that’s oft repeated in nature... a “Golden” shape found everywhere ...

Seems like it would be "Golden” for a roomy camper too, and looks just right , by natural design ...

Laura, I am not getting any of the pictures from flicker, my friend that keeps my computer in healthy shape says he does not know why. only that I and others on this forum have had problems too. just thought I'd let you know the best pictures by far are the ones that are put in the gallerys here on this forum.

just thought I'd let you know.

Well soon I might be in the actual building phase.

I went to the store and got my foam and osb and some framing for the floor.
119272
I even managed to back the trailer up the driveway and into the garage. (this is not my strong suit but I am getting better. There isn't a lot of room to go wrong in this process.
119273

I have TBII and linen. I have fenders.

Today I spent much of my working time fighting with getting the old plywood deck off the trailer. It was put in with carriage bolts that were spinning and nylock nuts.
119274

So here is where we stood at dinner time.
119275
I am pretty sure everything that is coming off the trailer is off except the factory lights. They'll stay til I am sure I'm not making anymore supply runs.

After dinner tonight I started looking at fender placement and fit. I was hoping I could just mount my fenders to the bottom of the 2x4s I'll be using to support my floor.
119276119277

This looks pretty good until I realized just now looking at the pictures that the trailer is sitting on it's stabilizer feet and not on it's wheels. I might have to notch the ends of the 2x4s up a bit to make the gap high enough. Tomorrow I'll take it off it's feet and put 500lbs of people on the frame. Then check the fender fit again.
