Please be aware that there will be 15 different road construction sites between Redding and Arcata on Hwy 299, CA this summer, as Caltrans tries to eliminate some of the hazardous curves. The delays will be lengthy enough that Caltrans mailed flyers to the people who may frequent that area.
In May, the expected delays on Hwy 299, from Redding to Hwy 96, on your way to Pearch Creek, will total a probable delay of about 20 minutes to a maximum of 1 hour and 10 minutes. The delays on Hwy 299 from Arcata to Hwy 96 are expected to be between 25 minutes to a maximum of about 1 hour 10 minutes.
In July, the expected delays on Hwy 299, from Redding to IRG, will total anywhere from 1 hour & 30 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours & 20 minutes.
