My poor lonely trailer has been sitting in the garage waiting for me to work on it. I worked on the galley a bit this weekend. Covered the walls in 5mm plywood which I plan on staining, started my slide out cabinet and played around with a slide out that goes all the way under one of my dinette seats. The idea is my two awnings will sit on the slide out. And the cabinet will sit in front of them. I will be able to pull the slide out 2', remove the cabinet to get to the awnings, then replace the cabinet on the slide out. I had some skate board bearings left over from my CNC build which I bolted on to the sides of the OSB. Going to play around with different ideas this weekend and post more pictures.

Hi, my name is Steve, I am new to the forum and live kinda close to you in Tacoma. I was looking through. Someone else's build and seeing that it was taking them three years to complete I was getting discouraged as I do not want to take that much time. Your build seem to go pretty quick and I would be using it before it was done like you are. I too am thinking about building the campster 12 but I think it might weigh too much for my car, have you ever weighed yours to see where it comes in at? I have and old tent trailer frame totally striped down weighs in at 275 pounds. I thank you much for the postings very informative and it really turned out great! I was also wondering how you did your drop floor to support the weight of standing in it. I saw one other build where the guy used steel plate to build the drop but I would rather not add that much extra weight.
Thanks in advance for any info you might be able to give me.

Sorry, have been away from the forums for a while between work and side jobs haven't had much trailer time. I built my trailer (well it's not finished, but campable) in about three months. Haven't had it weighted but I calculated it to be somewhere between 1500-2000 pounds. I have towed it with my ford escape but I prefer my truck just because it doesn't know it's hardly back there.

Wife said I have to finish my current project before starting the next one, so been working on finishing up the galley. To be honest it has been nice camping in it unfinished, trying this and that to give me a good idea of exactly what we want. Painted the cupboards and slide out cabinets. I have decided to paint the walls instead of leaving the natural wood. Still need to build one slide out drawer and paint, hopefully done this weekend. Laminate for countertop is on order, should have it early next week.

Took a break and went camping! Still waiting on counter laminate, but it's all painted! Woke up at 0530 this morning to the natures call and had to snap the last pic.

Finally got around to working on inside. We have been camping in it unfinished for 3 years now. Decided to use toung and groove pine, and whitewash for a coastal cabin feel. I still need to bu8ld some decent cabinet doors, but it will be a learning experience for sure.

Also after 3 years I had some water damage. I expected the fenders to fall apart since they were thrown together last minute for my first camping trip. The other damage was along the bottom front edge of my 5mm plywood where it didn't get sealed very well. The damage was minor, just delaminated plywood, but the idea of sanding, filling, getting it to look perfect and get paint to match was daunting, so I cut away all the damaged plywood, soaked everything with "the mix" and covered the bottom 2 feet with diamond plate. I used 3 rubes of latex Caulk to make sure it was well sealed. I also used the left over plate for the top of the fendors.

Thanks. I've been vapor on the forums for ever, between work and my other hobby (Home made CNC Router) turned part time business I've been busy. I have re-installed tap talk and have been lurking for a few weeks.

Just an update on my skin, other than the de-laminatuon of the plywood on the front bottom edge the musslin/tbIII skin has had no issues. The issue on the front was totally lack of sealing on my part. My wife was not sure about this small trailer thing in the beginning, but we haven't looked back.

Glad to hear the update on how it's holding up! Do you have any shots of the bed area?
