I did a search on images of smoker pots, vaporizers, humidifiers, 1 qt cast iron with holes in the lid, cast iron lid with holes, cast iron, went through over 150 pages on flea bay, searched as many cast iron sites that I could find, looked through peoples pics to see if one was sitting in a pile of their stuff... Some smoker pots are rectangle with holes on the top and the sides. The others are in the bowl shape with NO holes in the lid or on the sides that can be seen. I think the smoke comes out of tiny holes where the lid doesn't have a snug seal to the bowl? Those were very specific advertising no holes. They also look smaller than what I have. I could definitely use this as a smoker!!! It sure would be nice to know what it is for sure. I am going to keep searching though. Keep your eyes open for me!!! I won't ever be able to let this go until I know for sure. That's just me...

Single serving dump cake? Although to me all Dutch ovens make single serving dump cake.

It's kind of large for a smoker, but that is probably the best use that I would have for it. It is way too small for a humidifier. But I am still curious about what it was actually made for. Someone thought to make it for some reason or another, and their idea might have been great!

I think I could handle making a Colorado or Wyoming, maybe Utah, but most of the other states would be a challenge!

Colorado for a Denver omelet and Texas for Texas style French toast. Okay, which state gets the bacon, Illinois, Kansas or Missouri? Weren't Chicago and Kansas City known for their packing houses?

In my opinion, it is an egg poacher, missing the aluminum inserts at the top. My mother was a cast-iron queen, and I have a dim memory of a little egg poacher with inserts.

Thought I would tag in here rather than starting a new thread.............

Went to my favorite store yesterday and an old cast iron chicken fryer with lid found me.

So I went looking for some info to help identify it....

http://www.castironcollector.com/unmarked.php

The 10" extra deep fryer has the drip top lid with the little stalactites hanging down from the lid.
The bottom has a heat ring indicating the 30's 40's ???? (maybe)
The heat ring is interrupted at 9 o clock 12 o clock and 3 o clock with the handle in the down position.
I know early unmarked lodge skillets had this vented heat ring.
My question is did any other manufactures mimic this little design quirk ?
If not I may have a very early unmarked lodge chicken fryer.

Oh the best part $9.99 at my very favorite store (GoodWill)
Growing older but not up !
