Wow! A whole bunch of them! :o
They seem pretty happy with their Kickapoo juice.

Very cool! Do you call that many hummingbirds a flock? Never seen that many at one time.

Rob, how did your trip go?

Steve,

A "charm, a hover, or a troubling" of Hummingbirds.
(according to this site http://lyberty.com/encyc/articles/murder.html)

I called them a bunch of hungry birds.
They were captivating to watch: they darted to and fro, up and down, all over the place!
They reminded me of mosquitos they way the kept buzzing around my ears...I hoped real hard that they didn't think my ears were flowers...

At home, it is a thrill to see a hummingbird 4 or 5 times a year.
At that place in Colorado, the lady had 5 or 6 feeders and quite a constant flock.

The trip was a success!

We got rained on a few times during the 3300 mile motorcycle ride, but it kept the temperatures down, which was welcome!

This is one of the most board appropriate pictures I got on the trip.
It was at the Red Cliffs Lodge near Castle Vally Utah.

Beautiful shot Rob, that looks like a place to check out in the future. Glad you made it home safe and got the chance to spend some quality time with your son.

While in CO. last year we saw hummingbirds, but not like that! They must love that state!!!

Steve,

Maybe, but I think they just love that lady!

She said she fills all the feeders every day!

Rob, your video reminds me of this little unincorporated town in Missouri called Iconium. It is just outside the entrance of a Scout camp. Next to the little general store is a house with about 20 feeders hanging from the trees. It is a lot of fun to sit and watch them while enjoying a peach Nehi float. Sometimes there are over 100 hummers flitting about.

Bill,

That would really be something to see!

I counted about 15 at one time.

Makes me want to go buy another feeder...

Those are rufous hummers, and they are very territorial. Last new years we were in hondurous at a house with hundreds of feeders and thousands of hummers flying about our heads. It was amazing.
