12v Water Pump Location

Postby Strop » Tue Sep 23, 2014 6:10 am

In all but 1 build I have seen the water pump is located in the galley.

Is there any reason the could not be mounted under the trailer? Especially if you are having a water tank under the trailer.

Thanks

my understanding on water pumps is that they work better pushing water than pulling water. being closer to the water source may be a better location.

Personal observation is that water pumps work better when mounted lower. They prime easier, are quieter and deliver better flow. If it's a shurflo you are thinking of you can DL all the specs from Shurflos website. There is a maximum "head" given.

Yes, always close to the tank as possible, and gravity flow if possible to the inlet side.

Thank you. What you find in the planning stage is that there are compromises everywhere and making decisions of what's in and out.

I can get it close but no gravity feed unless tank is full.

I now have to figure out if I can get it to fit between the flood and axle.

Thanks
