Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Thanks Tom.
And I look forward to sharing my experiences.
I am a little concerned in that I have some very talented shoes to follow with all the great craftsmanship demonstrated in both the Teardrops and CT projects in this forum.
I have many ideas and must keep myself at a reasonable pace so as to do quality work.
Bob

Bob,

A beautiful trailer and it matches your truck! SahWeet.

P.S. It's a Dexter axle right? Perhaps the reason it's rated 200 pounds more than Jerry's is because it's got the 6-bolt wheel pattern instead of the five bolt.

Prem,
Yes it is a Dexter.
You probably know more then I do on the hole pattern specs.
And maybe the fact that it is a 225 D tire also helps.
Bob

No work done yet. Reason = a cabinet in the bonus room that must be finished before I start. That is an agreement I have with someone.
Plus too many entries in the calendar for other events. Maybe early next week.

Excellent tires. Get 'em balanced and the screws in your trailer won't work their way out. (Happened to me on a washboard, dirt road in southern Baja.)

Never thought of balancing. One would think that is done by someone before delivery. But is that expecting too much?
In fact I have not seen this point made in the forum by anyone. But this just may be very good advice. What the heck, it cannot hurt to do it.

I've personally never seen a factory-new cargo trailer with balanced tires.

It helps to balance tires not just for vibration reduction, but also for longer tire life.

And longer life means more money saved. I am certainly all for that! :applause:
