A few developments....I am now the proud owner of a shortwheel base 1975 Series 3 Land Rover and it is bright red so matches the Teardrop.
I've had the relevant checks and it's not stolen. the investigation of the stolen land rover will take a very, very long time.

The railway carriage is in the design stage....

Sage Green timber, probably tongue and groove flooring, and cream steel.

The carriage is a Mink Van built between 1930-1940. So the name "The Mink" may win (if it stays as a pub and not a craft room)
Interestingly Mink has many meanings:
- Mink the animal
- Mink Multiple Income No Kids
- Mink - mink coat and relates to opulence
- Mink is used as a derogatory name in Scotland, wee stinky mink,
- Mink according to google is american slang for a woman

I think it will be The Mink, should the pub ever exist.

The TD is away for the winter and I may park her in a neighbors shed as I need the garage space for sorting out a land rover and would like to do it in a garage rather than in the pouring rain outside.
Lots to do including replace swivels, repaint and replace the rims. http://landyrebuild.tumblr.com/

My brother lives in Perth sent these photos of a TD built by a chap originally from Harare in Zimbabwe. Picannin is a Zulu word for a young child.

Hey Grant, thanks for checking in and posting. Haven't 'seen' you around lately. Glad to hear that you are managing to trudge thru with the LR project, despite the unfortunate set back.

Don't be such a stranger.

"Swivels?"

Maybe Birfield steering joints?

Sorry chaps I've been busy doing other projects and have started a plan to built mk2 Td. Overlander.....
http://www.lizzybus.com just look at the map!!!!

Anyway. In answer to Riba, the willie windows have worked really well with both static rain and rain while being towed. I'm still struggling a little with the galley hatch detail but I'm getting close. The TD is undercover when not being used and I need to transfer her to a neighbours cattle shed after Christmas so I can do some open heart surgury on the Land Rover in the dry and "warm".

Swivels are the shiny steering joints. Look like a metal ball and socket. Mine are completely rusted so is probably the equivalent of arthritis.

Thanks for asking and I'm around just not too often.

All the best from a chilly Scotland

Grant

Hey Grant, how have you been? Haven't heard from you lately. Got any updates?

There's a post asking about drain holes for your Wiley windows here: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=63725
