Near mint 425C, use or not?

Postby scottinwv » Sun Nov 23, 2014 10:33 pm

I have a near mint, never fired, never fueled 425C dual burner stove.

I debating with myself as to whether I should use it or save it and get another "user".

What are your thoughts? Use it or keep it unfired/unfueled?

Depends on why you would keep it as an unfired stove. Do you want to have it as an investment and sell it in the future for a profit? Do you want to display it in some way as as a "near mint" stove (whatever that means)? Do you want to pass it on to someone as part of your estate? I think you ought to treat it as a nice new stove and use it for its intended purpose, fire it up and cook on it!

I have the same issue with a 1982 new in the box weber kettle.
The only reason I haven't used it is I have several more but would be a bit hard to light that first bbq

Unless its rare, I don't see why you wouldn't fire it up.

I'll be you still have a boxed 1977 telescoping light saber dart header don't you :). I wish I did...I'm with CG...toys are meant to be played with, unless it's not a toy to you. You also state it's near mint....that alone might be the justification to use it....it's not in out of the box condition, still in the box.
