Looking for info: Coleman S-558

Postby WoodSmith » Tue Dec 02, 2014 9:48 pm

My buddy is working on cleaning out his parents house and found a Coleman Super Circulator S-558 Oil Burning Heater.

It looks like it is in good condition but he has no idea exactly what it is or if it still works.

He sent me some pictures which I will attach (from my other computer), is this something that he should look into selling as a collectors item or is the listing on Craigs list that he put up his best bet?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Glen

The heater was made from 1941 - 1946 Might be a gas and oil version for the heater for each year. That one is in really great shape. They are usually missing the knob and the paint off the front metal around the knob. Most you find are so rusted out on the bottom. I would try for 500 lowest 250 as you have it on craigslist. I collect colemans but not in need of a heater.
