Did You Get Yourself A Christmas Present?

Postby MtnDon » Thu Dec 18, 2014 2:08 pm

I did. My self gift is a solid state hard drive (SSD) for my laptop. They make the boot time last only a few seconds, make the battery last longer and are more durable than the standard HDD. 512 GB at <$200 on amazon. Brand name Crucial, makers of some of the best memory for computers.

Wife bought herself a bigger camper, a 17' Casita, so I had to buy myself a truck to pull it, a 2012 Dodge Ram with the Hemi engine. Now we have 4 campers, '73 Starcraft pop-up, '46 Modernistic teardrop, '83 Uhaul 13', and the '96 Casita. Owning the teardrop allows us to stay here on this great forum, otherwise we'd probably get booted off. :(

Just picked up my Annual Socks at Costco about an hour ago!
But I can't complain? Had a Great Week on ebay, and have most everything needed for Kermit......just need a quick trip across the 49th to pick it all up.
Merry Christmas to All!

Re: Did You Get Yourself A Christmas Present?

Postby S. Heisley » Wed Dec 24, 2014 7:23 pm

At Thanksgiving time, I ordered a new laptop to replace my "XP" laptop, which, by today's standards, is nearly an antique or at least vintage. (It's so old that nobody will even accept in for trade-in.) About a week ago, I got an email, telling me that my purchase had been delayed. Then, yesterday, I got another email, telling me that it was "lost" and they would credit back my account...in about 60 days. Thank goodness I asked for store pick-up or I might have had an even bigger mess to deal with. But, I look at it this way...Somebody may be getting a really nice "free" present this Christmas and I guess it wasn't supposed to be for me in the first place. Who knows? Now that the sales are over, maybe I'll crawl along with my antique laptop for another year. After all, it still works! Maybe I'll get myself an inexpensive book....

Anyway, Christmas is the season to share and give to others. Merry Christmas, everybody!

Yes I did, but it is associated with the Secret Santa 12 day gift program so I can't say what it is.
