Good to see the Old girl running.

I love the 228 big hats. The L227 is one still missing out of my collection. I get one some day.

Nice one. Bet that one make a real nice night light.

Well. I just got my annual Christmas Eve light up over. I had 24 lanterns along my little lane and around my house and on the front porch. No pictures. I tried to make a video last year but all it was was little points of light. I started fueling up and pumping up lanterns Monday. Then I started lighting and putting them out at 3:30pm today. They was all up just before sunset then I started taking them down a 9 pm. I had more out last year but really killed my legs/knees. Not much better this year. I still have 4 on the porch that are burning. Oh and I have 2 in the house going.

Ahhhh, the sweet smell of burning gas.

That is a very nice tradition you have there, Randy. Even w/o pics, I can appreciate your effort to keep with it. The memories of your pictures from last year are "burned" into my mind.

The Frankero lantern is a nice piece of work, too. :applause:

Nice one. I like how the pump is the handle. I have not seen that before.

Just picked up a 228F lantern and a 425E stove for $20 each. Not the deal of the century but they seem to be in decent working order so I'm satisfied. Like most they don't seem to have seen a whole lot of use, more transport wear and storage in a damp environment.

Image

The stove is dated 1970. The case has a decent amount of rust, but it doesn't seem to have compromised it's integrity yet. I may try a basic cleanup and repaint. The tank and valving looks good. The burners/mixing chamber unit is surprisingly nice, makes me wonder if it was replaced at some point.

The lantern is dated June of 1972, and being a 228 it has the wider brim ventilator that appeals to me, though I'm finding there are fewer storage case options than the narrower 220. The vertical that attaches the bale on one side had one of the tack welds give up.. and as I was securing it for transport the other tack weld let go so that side is completely off. Not a huge deal as I can redo the weld. What excited me was once I got home I realized the clamp on the fount was holding on an "accessory safe" with the factory wrench, 5 spare mantles, and a spare generator!
