How to Attach Luan to Exterior Frame Prior to Aluminum

Postby MarcInBoise » Sun Mar 22, 2015 7:32 pm

Need to finish the wiring and it's time for the exterior/roof Luan, prior to installing the aluminum.
How is it attached? Wood glue? Gorilla glue? How is it held in place? Staples?
Will staples work themselves loose and push up against the aluminum making a dent from the inside?

Marc:

Sounds like you're chuggng away.

I use Loctite PL Premium poly* adhesive and 1/4" crown staples from a pneumatic gun. Works well. The crown stapes are set just below the wood, and then they get a covering of epoxy. I'm afraid that if bare steel got in contact with the aluminum, it'd start a corrosion spot.
