Google Project Fi

Anyone using Google's Project Ficellphone service?

$20 a month unlimited voice and text. $10 per GB of data used. Paid for and un-used data gets you a credit on your account the next month. (Taxes, etc, extra as per usual.)

A combination of T-Mobile and Sprint networks plus Wi-Fi.

For now you need a Nexus 6 phone, $500 intro offer, unlocked. No contracts.

I would love to sign up and give them a try. But coverage in the area of our cabin sucks. It's fine here at home.

Sprint has been extremely agressive in the market lately. I hope the other majors will follow suit...or sprint could build infrastructure and get more folks to take advantage of such hot deals.

Unfortunately, the Sprint and T Mobile networks are awful around here (very little coverage more than half a mile off a major highway) , so I won't be switching.
