You are right about that. I do love the visibility. I have always had caps before and this tonneau opens up a ton of views. As with my boats, everything is a compromise and you hope you pick the right choice. Oh BTW, red like yours is my favorite vehicle color on vehicles. Next time, if there is one, I will wait things out for the color I like.

Actually it's brown. Officially "Bronze Fire Metallic" we wanted the ruby red but I guess so did everyone else. None available with other features we wanted so late in the year. This color was our second choice and the third was that pearly silver color.

So... You have had the truck for a few days. Its been cooler in your neck of the woods
too. How is the truck working out? Any irritating systems or things that could work/fit
better for you? How is the ride?
Personally, I bought a Nissan Frontier in January and I'm looking around at what's coming
out new already.

I traded in a silverado z71 that I bought new and kept 13 years but it was disappointing. This vehicle, knock on wood, is wonderful.Better gas mileage, very smooth ride. BIG compared to my old one and it is luxurious in comparison too. It is well put together. I've gone over all of it and it's fit and finish are really nice (robotics for assembly?). I have the v8 which is the engine that doesn't seem to be giving anyone any issues. The ecoboost ones seem to have some people with a few problems. It also handles well for such a big vehicle. Seems that by making the body aluminum I don't get the sway feeling on curves. It' holds the road like a smaller, lower to the ground vehicle. Only time will tell. I'm planning on watching the frame like a hawk and working on keeping it from rusting which is what happened to my old truck. Right now after about 1500 miles I can't say I don't like anything... and I usually find something!

I am at 55,000 miles with my 2012 F150 Turbo with no issues so far. I hope it stays that way. I have two friends/family who have or had 3 different Turbos and also have no engine issues. One is a nephew in-law former sales manager for Ford in the NE. I am not saying that there are no issues with them, only that I have not come across them. I do love the power in them, especially with my CT attached.

When I got to the Ford forum, guys talk about check engine lights coming on on the 3.5 ecoboost. There's also a some kind of problem with carbon build up on the heads on those that have been out there a few years. I don't know the particulars but Ford is looking into it. The other issue I found is that even though the turboboost engines have amazing horse power and torque for their size, the gas mileage isn't much better than the v8 and when towing the gas mileage drops a lot. So say the guys on the forum who own them. My dealer, when I was deciding, asked if I was planning on keeping the vehicle 10 or more years. I alway do 13-15 yrs on a vehicle. He immediately said, "get the v8". Anyway, I'm sure any one of them would be fine. I just went with the old standard. And like I said, fingers crossed. That's all you can do.

Fingers crossed!

At least I have the 100,000 extended warranty. And one can always trade later.

Hopefully you won't need it! If it was me I wouldn't need if just because I bought it. If I hadn't I'd be broken down on the side of the road!

Nice choice on the truck. I have a 2011 F150 extended cab 4x4 with the 5.0 L V8 and I love it. I have about 47K miles on it and absolutely no issues. I get about ~19 MPG on the Hwy and 13-14 mpg around town. It really does depend on the gas and my driving. I have gotten as high as 21mpg on the highway. I think beyond my driving style, the gas makes a difference. For instance... the 85 (flex fuel with ~ 50% ethanol) drops it a few mpg right away. I have had no ethanol gas and it went up a few mpg. There are so many different fuel mixes out there.

I get about 13mpg on the highway pulling my 18' V-nose CT. I really like the power of it. It doesn't even break a sweat pulling.

Enjoy it. It is a nice truck!

Nice choice! I have almost the exact same truck, 2015 XLT Sport, SuperCrew 4x4 FX4 with Moonroof, Navigation, 110v inverter... But mine's the 2.7L Ecoboost and since I'm a "youngster", I got the painted bumper

Bought mine in March 2015 and have 53k on the clock already. Not a single issue with it and absolutely 100% happy. Getting 26+ mpg on the highway is great for a full sized truck too. On 50mph freeways I can get 29-30 mpg :)
