I also noticed that it doesn't mention whether the charger is "smart" i.e., 3 or 4 stage, or just a "trickle" charger that can ruin your battery.

I'll be happy to continue the discussion if you can get real specs on it.

With a google search I found the manual

Its not a smart battery charger, it provides constant voltage until the load on the 12V side pulls it down. the Eleixir12 starts to drop voltage when the load is over about 12amps. I would probably use a seperate charger to charge my battery at home, but weekends at the campground it would probably be ok. People at popupportal seem to be using them, so maybe checkin over there.

Just don't use it to charge your battery. The "not smart" charger will ruin your battery if left connected for too long.
