Photos are always a treat for me. If they do not mean much at first, I do find myself many times going back to look at many when a new idea or need arises.

By silver box, do you mean the CT itself?
See my posts in my signature below. I have not posted any work since last fall mainly because I have too many other demands on my time. But once I get my work area back, I will be back at it, soon I hope.

I agree. Thanks for posting pictures! It helps us wannabees in case we are ever fortunate to build a CT conversion.

I'll be interested in your black tank installation, particularly how you add the fittings for the closet flange and vent pipe and how you "hang" the tank.

Take care,
Tom

Hey Tommy B,
I assume that I am Dave from Montana, so I'll tell ya. What you are working on now looks VERY familiar to me. I'm currently attacking the black tank/toilet/shower issue myself. I took a little different approach, but hopefully we'll end up at the same place. I purchased the tank pre-made that fit all my requirements, without the holes for vent and 3" pipe, and got the appropriate grommets but have to cut the holes myself. At this point trailer has been insulated and lots of mock ups, measuring, and adjustments have been made. Progress has been slow due to weather, but we are used to that with 8 months of winter in Montana. This week is usually the last frost date so LOTS to do. Garden is tilled, but not planted. Sunday should be the end of frost danger, I hope. I wont get anything else done to trailer till next week as the first Rodeo of the year begins Thursday. I don't know if you have ever heard of the "Cowboy Mardi Gras" or as its officially known,
"The World Famous Bucking Horse Sale", but we host it in our town and it is all consuming for a week or so. If you enjoy rodeo and the lifestyle and folks associated with it, and you think you have the stamina for a five day drunken sh** show, then come on up. It will probably be the best time you've ever had. Long story short, I will be celebrating the 22nd anniversary of the night I met my beautiful bride. Came up from New Mexico for the Rodeo and NEVER WENT BACK! Smartest thing I ever did.
Anyways, I have most everything I need to complete the trailer, and the weather and time are coming. So, progress should pick up as soon as the hangover and bruises are healed up. I'll start getttin my act together on the build journal, I promise.
I can see your making progress and "doin the math" that's required. For me, it's not a race. But I am aiming for July 20 something. The Beartooth Motorcycle Rally and Ironhorse Rodeo is that weekend in Red Lodge, Mt. and I would like début it there before Sturgis in August. The Ironhorse is a Rodeo on motorcycles. Barrel racing, Low Speed Race, Bite the Pickle, etc. all in the dirt on Harleys at the rodeo grounds. Again, too much fun WILL be had. There is also 2 full days of Poker Runs and rally riding through some of the most beautiful parts of God's Country including Beartooth Pass at over 11,000 ft and the Chief Joseph Highway from Cody Wyoming to Cooke City, MT. And don't forget the nightlife. 'Nuff said.
I'll check on you soon, if I survive another Buckin' Horse weekend. Actually, I'm getting pretty good at it.

Hello everybody. McDave...MD...Mad Dog...my brother from a different mother.. . Finally someone who is in my current situation. Good to make contact. Don't hurt yourself to bad on those buckin broncs and bulls man, you need those hands, wrists and most everything else to finish the task of conversion. The Liver does however take much abuse and does regenerate so don't hold back there. I passed on the last good rides and camping trips to get as close too finishing as possible before the rain and humidity hit. Got 5 inches of rain last night, more coming. 100 degree heat index..breathing liquid air for the next 4 months. Mosquitoes by the hundreds soon.
Door, Tank, and New RV custom 5.5 inch gel mattress on the way. After that A lot of finishing work. 60 grit,110 grit, 220 grit. 235 cherry stain. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat. Mean while a few pics from the very beginning. I have not decided how to cover under the sink yet. May be Thick SunShade pleated out door curtain. The Weight up front is concerning me. So much little stuff and big stuff to go.
Thanks to all who responded.
Pics to follow
