RV tank and Toilet

Postby RetchedOne » Sat May 09, 2015 7:35 pm

I'm doing a Cargo Conversion, and have 2 40 gallon tanks below, one grey, one black. The black will be directly below the toilet, with just a 3/4 ply floor separating the tank top and toilet floor. I'm using a standard RV toilet.

How does the toilet attach to a black tank? I see fittings that look like I cut a 3.5 inch hole, and they pop in place and get sealed... then what???? Can anyone provide links to what I need?

Thanks all!

That's about it. Hook up a fresh water line to flush, add a vent pipe and there ya go.

I guess I don't understand the question.

What fittings go between the bottom of the toilet to the tank?

I'm looking at this toilet -
http://www.amazon.com/Dometic-302310071 ... ometic+310
Installation PDF -
http://www.factoryrvsurplus.com/files/D ... lation.pdf

I have this tank -

I think this piece goes into the tank (directly below the toilet) ???

And this piece bolts to the bottom of the toilet and slides into the piece above ???

I believe this is the seal kit

I believe your questions is, " how do you attach/glue/mount the toilet flange to the tank?" I too have been a little curious about this.

Maybe this: http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/it ... slip/68818

You will have to get from your tank connection on top to what is called a Herco Ring or closet flange. The blue ring at left in the picture is the herco ring, it's what you bolt your toilet to, it rotates so you can clock it any direction to orientate your toilet square with the room or whatever.

Retched, I am in a similar situation. If you check out my thread there are pictures of what you are describing. I used a 3 inch valtera floor flange which required a 4 in hole I BELEIVE. Much has passed sense I cut that hole But I could confirm if need be. My tank will be here this Friday and I plan on mounting it sat if all goes well. The flange fits tight and flush and passes through that 3/4 inch plywood with much thread to spare to screw into your tank fitting. It is a male 3 inch valtera floor flange. I have no idea how I will mount the tank and there is no easy button.
Cargo conversion thread. 6x12 hallmark thread will have better pic. I don't have time right now good luck.
