I believe that if Peltier cooling, or TEC, was a great idea for air conditioning we would be able to buy off the shelf units.

I doubt the results would be satisfactory. They also use a lot of energy. I stated in another thread that the "big boys" would already be making 12 volt air conditioners if such a thing were possible.

Their used in things like electric coolers and such but the size of that's needed to cool a camper is fairly large and would consume far more power than a conventional AC unit.

There is a way to make a 12v AC type device (won't cool near as good as a proper AC unit but be more efficient than one of those). Problem is you have to keep it fed with bags of ice.

But a small window air unit is way over kill for these purposes unless your talking a big cargo trailer conversion.

But if this were used just for dumping excess free solar produced, there may be something useful for it to do. In another thread someone suggested cooling down the battery bnk for longevity.

Not that I would recommend that, just sayin

It takes 3k to 5k btu to cool a TD 30 degrees. That's 1000 to 1500 watts, assuming 100% efficiency.

A 6000 btu AC unit pulls about 600 watts average.

To be effective that TEC would need to be damn big lol. Already talking a 10amp draw on that small unit ( which the 4 fans draw little of).

Fun project, be good to use to make a "fridge" or something to blow cool air on you (mount it blowing down on your head whole your sleeping).

The efficiency of the peltier devices is about 15% IIRC. That may be fine if one has unlimited electricity. That is not the case when batteries are included.
