Clever thinking outside the box design

Postby mallymal » Mon Sep 04, 2017 11:58 am

For anyone who wanted a really collapsible solution, imagine this rooftop tent, but instead sitting it atop a basic trailer box..... lots of storage, not as scary as climbing a 6' ladder in the dark to get in and out.

It's expensive, but looks beaytifully made. (I thini it's also at the Crowdfunding stage).

Not sure I like the ladder supporting the hinge down floor extension, but if instead it was on a lower platform, little legs could be added.

Might give food for thought to someone!

Ps, I'm not affiliated to this in any way, I just admire clever design

A builder did a tent on a trailer box on this forum some time ago . viewtopic.php?f=5&t=44671&start=15 . I am considering doing something very similar on my next build.

A co-worker of mine made one like this. It has a power system with lights, solar panels and a water tank with pump for a sink attached to the side and an outdoor shower. Pretty neat but requires a bit of setup.

Here's a collection of expedition trailer builds, heck there's a whole forum dedicated to them:
