Camp is all set up. Cell booster is working well. A view of the camp, dinner last night. Eating with the KTM and watching TV.. btw.. the stone in the oven was the ticket. Even and consistent heat. No burned pizza!

Looks like a good time.

Could you post some pictures of your cell booster antenna setup? I did a search, but your older pictures are gone.

Thanks!

All, if any of you are praying folks, I ask you to pray for Tommy.. We were out having a good time on dirtbikes today and Tommy was involved in a serious accident. Mainly his hand detached/bone sticking out at the wrist. His life is not in danger at this point. They helicoptered him out to the trauma center and he will be on Surgery tonight to repair his wrist/arm and hand. Maybe a broken shoulder also. Tommy is one tough guy. He endured what has to be the worst pain for over and hour while they got back into the woods. They got him to the road and the helicopter took him away. I will spend tomorrow trying to figure out how to get his bike back to camp. It cannot be ridden and sun is going down. I'll let Tommy tell the rest when he can. The purpose of this was to ask for prayers for his recovery and the surgeons who will work on his arm tonight. His wife will be with him tonight. She is on her way. It is a 3 hour drive at least.

Hey Don,
I'm so sorry about what happened. Thank God you were there for Tommy. I can't think of many other people better equipped to manage that kind of situation. Most of my friends wouldn't have a clue what to do.
Listen, if Tommy brought his ATV perhaps you could use that and fashion a travois or litter to pull behind it and rescue the KTM that way. I know you guys ride a lot of single track so the ATV wont be easy to get around but better than a truck. I suppose you could pull the litter with your bike but that just puts you in a dangerous position. Since you are flyin' solo now you should try to minimize risk.
I'm not sure what I can do to help you guys but if you think of something don't hesitate to ask. You know I love you guys.
Keep me posted, OK?

PS I'm sending you a PM

Praying for you Tommy, good thing you had Don with you.

I once had to ride my 3 wheeler out of the woods with a bent axle and flat tire (rode on the other two), but never had to retrieve a bike. Using the ATV is your best bet if you can fit it back there.

flboy, Howdy;

Saw the post about Tommy over on his thread, simply put, prayers are sent from here too.

Reckon the cell booster had it's initiation. Good thing you'd decided to install it when ya did.
McD's idea of the travois or litter to drag Tommy's bike out sounds like the best method...
don't know how many ditches or trees you might need to go around or cut/fill to get past.
Stay safe, know you'll get-er-done just don't hurry it.

Got the bike out of the woods. Local help and a 4 wheeler. There are good people all over and willing to help. Just took me a while to find where I ditched it before it got dark. Tommy is through surgery and awake this morning. He must be doing okay since his wife told me he was trying to eat some breakfast.. He's going to be fine after recovery. Thanks for the prayers and concern. They made a difference.

Tommy's Accident...

Postby FlyBye » Fri Nov 10, 2017 1:41 pm

Just saw the post regarding Tommy's accident. I will pray and continue to pray for him. As bad as it apparently is, I'm glad that he was able to get the necessary help. Hang in there Tommy!
