Fall Finale 2018

Postby cdfnchico » Tue Jan 16, 2018 4:33 pm

Fall Finale Campout 2018, in the Feather River Canyon the weekend of October 18-21. It's our anniversary and last year's camping was epic! The canyon is legendary for it's fall colors...the North Fork campground at Caribou off Hwy 70 was redone a couple years ago with showers etc. Several sites have electricity. All the sites are right on the creek. The weather should be crisp at night but pleasant during the day. Sites are $25 night. Senior discount can be applied. No reservations; last year we had a dozen trailers and room for more!

More details to come soon. We will a potluck on Sat. Last year we had a great time, ukuleles, zentangle, dutch ovens and more!

It was an awesome way to wrap up the season. Hope you join us!

Cathy and Leo, I camped with you a few years ago on Treasure Island. You let me use your stove because mine kept blowing out in the winds. Anyway, I will try to make the date. I have relatives in Paradise and might try to make a visit with them at the same time.

Hello folks, been a while. The boy's and I will do our best to be there. To anyone wondering if they should go the answer is YES! Truly a beautiful drive up the Feather River. Campground is first rate with showers and...flushers. Best part are the wonderful people that show up.
(p.s. I promise to bring money this time; thanks Rob).

Lee! Glad to hear you folks are looking this direction. It's a great little gathering; I think you'll be happy you made the trip. There are a couple sites with power; should we try to hold on to one for you?

Cathy Yes to the power question, Norma has a tendency to get chills so the ability to have electric heat would be a definite plus ( I am a little, to a lot , nervous about propane heat in our little trailers ). Thanks Lee and Norma p.s. this will be our first time there what is the best route to take coming in from Reno ?

I’d rake 395 to 70 (Portola/Quincy) and head straight in to Caribou. After the 89 turnoff watch for Caribou Rd on the right. Quincy will be your last opportunity for real groceries or gas.
