Ran across a forum today about building airboats down in the Everglades apparently EMT is the material of choice for many builders because of its inherent corrosion resistance and cost

I wonder what spacing you'd need to do a drop floor for a 200lb owner, supporting say 1/4 ply + PMF done with screening. . .

If the weather cooperates I will do some welding on my frame this week. I will keep you posted on how it turns out. I figure worse case scenario it is not strong enough for the design I have in mind, then I figure I will just sleeve my 3/4 in some 1 in or 1 1/4 and call it good.

I started my build today. I welded a 30 inch piece of 3/4 emt to my trailer. The weak spot in my design is not the emt. The open channel construction of my converted boat trailer was flexing/bending while I pulled on the emt to check its strength. So I believe that 3/4 emt should work just fine.
