I try not to post directly where my videos are, unless they are already common places people know about. Just trying to share cool trips with people, but not broadcast the locations I go and routes that I use. Too many people do not respect these areas like I do. I do however leave breadcrumbs so that if someone really wanted to figure out where I was, and the routes I took, they could probably figure it out. If that is the case they are probably people who will respect the area like I do.
So, in this case, Bogus is the name of the creek you saw us cross towards the end of the video series. If you remember in the beginning, I posted a picture of the stage stop which had a sign in front of it which gave information on the location. At one point we where at a lava field. If someone dug deep enough they could probably be able to figure out my route, or at least a portion of it. In fact, I followed someone else breadcrumbs for part of this trip, and I might add the most difficult route finding of the trip. I also think that this makes it more fun than just following a GPS route that someone else did.
Since our main objective was in the area of Bogus Creek I though it would make a great breadcrumb to make a title name with "A Bogus Trip?" . A little bit of click bait because people would want to know if it was a bogus trip or not for themselves, but also put a clue in the title. Most people probably don't care, but those that do would figure it out with some research.
Call me strange, George.
